Introduction

The fee of £595 for a vasectomy procedure at Thames Valley Vasectomy Services (TVVS) covers administrative services, consultation or webinar, scheduled appointment time, the surgical procedure, and one semen sample kit including laboratory analysis and results processing. This fee is not solely for the procedure itself.

If TVVS Is Running Late

Occasionally, delays may occur due to the late arrival of earlier patients or unexpectedly complex procedures. While we strive to remain on schedule and do so more than 90% of the time, we appreciate your understanding if a delay arises. We regret that no compensation can be offered for your time. However, if the delay exceeds 45 minutes, you may choose to cancel at no charge. Please inform the nurse or receptionist if you decide to do so.

If You Are Running Late

To maintain affordable fees, our clinics operate on carefully scheduled time slots. Arriving late impacts not only your own procedure but also those of subsequent patients. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may be unable to proceed, and this will be considered a no-show”. In some cases, we may accommodate you later if another patient is early or a slot becomes available, but this could involve a significant wait.

To avoid unnecessary stress, we strongly recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early. Please account for potential traffic delays, which are common in our area.

Sometimes we are able to see early patients, because others are running late, which is particularly helpful.

If We Are Unable to Proceed with Surgery

In the event that we are medically or surgically unable to carry out your vasectomy, we will issue a full refund. If you have already attended a consultation and surgery was planned, we will generally also refund the consultation fee, unless substantial administrative work (e.g. reports or letters) was required, in which case the consultation fee of £95 and the admin fee of £49 may be retained.

Appointment Confirmation & Deposit

To confirm and secure your appointment, a deposit of at least 30% of the total procedure cost (minimum £195) is required. We recommend payment in full to streamline communication and avoid reminders or the risk of cancellation due to non-payment.

Timing of Deposit

Your appointment is reserved for 24 hours. If your deposit is not received within this timeframe, the slot may be released and offered to other patients.

Final Payment

The remaining balance is due at least one week before your procedure. Failure to make this payment may result in the cancellation of your appointment. In this case, we reserve the right to retain the £49 administration fee or a £295 down payment, depending on timing. Appointments booked less than one week before the procedure must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Appointment Time Flexibility

To keep costs low and accommodate the varying medical needs of patients, your appointment time may change, occasionally at short notice, to an earlier or later slot on the same day. We kindly ask that you keep a 2-hour window (±2 hours) around your scheduled time free.

Explanation of Cancellation Policy

Patient Considerations:

Patients who repeatedly cancel, reschedule at short notice, or fail to attend are statistically more likely to experience regret or complications and may not be appropriate candidates for vasectomy. Truly committed patients typically proceed as planned, while those with unresolved anxiety often find reasons to delay. For your safety and our service quality, we enforce a strict policy.

Service Considerations:

Scheduling a surgical list involves substantial preparation: booking clinical staff, preparing surgical kits, labeling specimens, sourcing anaesthetic, and sterilising instruments. Last-minute cancellations result in idle staff and wasted resources. To keep our fees affordable, we cannot pass these costs on to reliable patients. We ask that only those confident in their decision and committed to attending proceed with booking.
