Why Choose Thames Valley Vasectomy Services?

At Thames Valley Vasectomy Services (TVVS), we believe that undergoing a vasectomy should be a calm, well-informed, and positive experience. We’re proud to offer high-quality, no-scalpel vasectomies in a professional, private, and caring environment.

👨‍⚕️ Experience You Can Trust

Led by Dr Martin Kittel, who has performed over 20,000 vasectomies, our team combines deep experience with a personal touch. You won’t be speaking to a call centre — when you call us, you’ll reach a knowledgeable team member who can answer your questions directly. If you leave a message during working hours, we’ll typically get back to you within 1–2 hours, or the next business day if after hours.

Don’t just take our word for it — check out the reviews on our website and our Google reviews to see what our patients have to say.

🏥 A Welcoming, Modern Clinic

Your procedure will take place at The Bourne End Clinic — a purpose-built, state-of-the-art medical facility designed for your comfort, safety, and privacy.

⏱️ Short Waiting Times, Flexible Appointments

We work hard to keep our waiting times short and offer vasectomies primarily on Wednesdays and Fridays, helping you recover over a weekend and return to work by Monday (ideal for office-based roles).
Evening clinics may be available if demand increases.

💬 Open, Honest, and Transparent

We’re committed to transparency and patient support. You’ll find not only glowing reviews, but also candid discussions about the pros and cons of vasectomy — including our popular page: Why Not to Have a Vasectomy.

We help you make the right choice for you, by:

  • Explaining the no-scalpel vasectomy (NSV) procedure

  • Answering both clinical and personal FAQs

  • Pointing out alternatives and contraceptive options (including LARCs)

  • Offering clear statistics on success rates and risks

📚 Clear Information, Thoughtful Communication

From the start, we provide you with detailed written information to review at your own pace. You’ll also be invited to a group webinar (included in your consultation fee), where you can learn everything you need to know and ask questions freely.

If needed, you can also request a one-on-one consultation with Dr Kittel following the webinar.

📅 Initial consultation (webinar): £95
This includes access to the webinar and optional personal consultation. If you proceed with us, the fee is deducted from the full vasectomy package.

😌 Comfort During the Procedure

Most of our patients report little to no pain during the vasectomy.
We use a gentle local anaesthetic — often described as far more comfortable than expected. Many patients feel so at ease, they read or even nap during the procedure!

🚗 Aftercare & Travel

  • You’ll receive full aftercare instructions and contact details for support.

  • There’s no need to stay for extended observation after the procedure.

  • You may technically drive yourself home after 2 hours, but we strongly recommend arranging a driver for your safety and comfort.

After your vasectomy, most patients with office-based jobs are ready to return to work by Monday, especially if their procedure is done on a Wednesday or Friday. This timeline is supported by Sokal et al. (1999), who found rapid recovery is typical after No-Scalpel Vasectomy.

🌍 Coming from Far Away?

Travelling a long distance? We’ve designed our service to make things as easy and efficient as possible — without compromising on safety or care.

Most patients now complete their consultation via a convenient webinar, which means there’s no need for an in-person visit beforehand unless there are specific medical or surgical concerns.

If you’re eligible, we’ll typically book you a “One-Stop-Shop” appointment, allowing you to attend the clinic just once — for both the assessment and the vasectomy procedure. This is our standard process for the majority of patients, and it’s proven to be both safe and efficient.

After your vasectomy, most patients with office-based jobs are able to return to work by Monday, especially if the procedure is performed on a Wednesday or Friday. This recovery timeline is supported by research, including Sokal et al. (1999), which found minimal downtime following No-Scalpel Vasectomy.

Let us know if you’re coming from afar when booking — we’ll ensure everything is arranged in advance for a smooth experience.
