2. Quick “Before You Book” Checklist

Please make sure the following applies to you:

• You are aged 30 or over, or are happy to complete the young patient assessment pathway

• You can be contacted by our team after booking

• You can rest fully for 48 hours after the procedure

• You can arrange someone to drive you home

• You understand that an information webinar and digital consent forms are part of the process

• You have flexibility +/- 2 hrs from the appointment slot in case there are staff changes or difficulties. We would contact you with this and advise you.
• You have read and understood the cancellation policy.

If these apply to you, you can proceed with booking below.

3. Cannot Find a Suitable Date?

The online calendar only shows a portion of our available appointments.

If you cannot find a suitable date or time:

• We often have additional appointments available by phone

• We are often able to offer earlier appointments

• In some cases we can even offer next-day or in-week vasectomy procedures when you call between Monday and Thursday

• We should also have different weekdays available that are not shown online

If this applies to you, simply book a vasectomy package without selecting a date.

You can then:

• Call us on the next working day (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays), or

• Wait for our team to contact you within 48 working hours

We will help you arrange the most convenient appointment possible.

4. What Happens After Booking

After you submit your booking, our team will contact you to provide important information and preparation instructions.

You will receive:

• Access to our vasectomy information webinar

• A video recording if you cannot attend the live webinar

• Four comprehensive, but easy to manage digital forms to complete on your phone, tablet or laptop.

One of the forms includes a short quiz to confirm that you understand the procedure and that your consent is fully informed.

These forms are straightforward and typically take only a short time to complete.

If we cannot reach you after several attempts, we may unfortunately need to cancel the appointment, so please ensure your contact details are correct.

5. Planning Your Recovery

Most patients recover quickly after vasectomy, but proper rest is important.

You should plan to:

• Rest completely for the first 48 hours

• Only perform light work and light activity for 1 week

• Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting during that time

Patients who perform heavy manual work should plan to take approximately one week off work.

6. Getting Home After Your Vasectomy

Please arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure.

This is very important.

Patients are more likely to faint after vasectomy than after most other minor procedures. This is due to the fact patients can be very anxious before the procedure and produce a lot of adrenaline. They are then so relieved it was so easy and straightforward, all the adrenaline ebbs away and they faint. Although uncommon, fainting can occur within 2 hrs after the procedure.

For safety reasons, driving yourself home is not recommended, as fainting while driving could be dangerous for you and others.

Please ensure a responsible adult can drive you home.
