✂️ Shaving Guide: Follow the Instructions Carefully

Have you shaved properly as shown in the pictorial guide (last two pages of the Welcome Pack)?
This includes:

  • Complete shave of the front of your scrotum and lower half of the penis

  • Shortening of pubic hair using scissors or electric trimmers

💡 Tip: Shave at least 2 days before the procedure to minimize irritation.
You can use hair removal creams, but test on a small area a week in advance if you have sensitive skin.

🚗 Travel Plans: Have You Arranged a Driver?

Avoid driving yourself — especially if you’re having a surgical procedure.

  • Arrange for a driver (your insurance may not cover you if you drive immediately after).

  • If you must drive, use an automatic car and wait at least 2 hours after your procedure.

Refer to your Welcome Pack for full details.

If you arrive late or cancel within less than 24 hrs, you may incur significant cancellation fees.

Details: Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Our appointments are scheduled like flights — once they’re missed, they’re gone. A delay from one patient affects the entire schedule.

🏥 NHS Patients – Please Read Carefully

We understand that unexpected things can happen — but missing or arriving late for your appointment affects more than just your own care.

Every missed slot is a lost opportunity for another patient. Our NHS clinics are fully booked, and when someone cancels late or doesn’t attend, we often cannot re-fill the space at such short notice. That appointment could have been used by someone else still waiting.

Additionally, arriving unprepared or disorganised can raise safety concerns, which we take very seriously. You can read more about these risks here:
👉 Why Not to Have a Vasectomy?

As part of our NHS contract, the following steps apply if you miss or arrive too late for your appointment:

  • You will be referred back to your GP

  • Before being rebooked, you’ll need to attend a face-to-face consultation to confirm you’re ready and committed

  • You will be added to the end of the NHS waiting list, regardless of the reason for missing the appointment

We want your vasectomy experience to be safe, calm, and smooth. Being on time and prepared helps you — and helps us care for everyone else, too.
